Dr. Haskal is currently Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. After completing his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1992, Dr. Haskal joined the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. In 1999, Dr. Haskal served as Director of the Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Haskal currently co-chairs the Vascular Service Line at the NY-Presbyterian Hospital, and is Program Director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program and Research Lab. Dr. Haskal has published more than 130 articles, editorials, chapters, and books in the field and frequently lectures on related topics. He has been repeatedly named to local and national lists of "Top Doctors."

Dr. Haskal's research interests include image-guided therapy of cancer, endovascular interventions, portal hypertension and liver disease, deep vein thrombosis, peripheral vascular disease, uterine fibroid embolization, hemodialysis, stent-grafts, gene therapy, and biliary disease. Dr. Haskal serves on the editorial boards of multiple peer-reviewed journals, and chairs multiple national professional committees.
